I was born and raised in Cuba and I think this changed and shaped my artistic perspective.
I can describe my work a blending of Folk Art, Pop, Abstract and Figurative.
The mixture of my Cuban roots is present: the native indigenous, African art and European cultures.
When I look in the Art History, I see all artist that influence my work: like Henry Matisse, Frida Khalo, Picasso, And also my Cuban influences like Wilfredo Lam and Manuel Mendive.I use acrylic paint and acrylic mediums. I use contrasting textures and mixed media(found objects, fabric and hand made paper.
I enjoy painting the human figure, could be imaginary, but always expressing the spirit and feelings.
I think in the planet earth we are the only one with the deep soul that makes us special and unique and let us search and feel love
